Mother of All Bass was a passion project born out of the desire to take what I was learning in my college classes and apply them to something I’m extremely passionate about: music.
The brand first began as a blog covering the local bass music scene in West Michigan. I had initially expressed interest in writing for a local music blog that already existed, and while the editor agreed there was certainly the scene for it, he did not have any knowledge or personal interest in it. This is how the blog first began.
MOAB was the first blog to interview PEEKABOO (who went on to collaborate with Skrillex) and interviewed dozens of local (at the time) artists like Super Future and Sully, as well as local DJs in an effort to shine a light on an area that was becoming known as a hot spot for bass music.
MOAB collaborated with music festivals like Summer Camp (Chillicothe, IL), Breakaway (Grand Rapids), #GRIDLIFE and Boredomfest to provide pre- and post-festival event coverage including editorial and photo.
Music Festivals

Boredomfest
Worked with Boredomfest to review their Road to Boredomfest Tour show in Grand Rapids, Michigan to help preview what the festival would offer and promote the festival
Attended the 3-Day festival and provided coverage on the event via photography and editorial coverage following the event

Summer Camp Music Festival (Chillicothe, IL)
In 2018, when not one, but TWO local West Michigan producers Super Future and Flats Stanlie won The Untz Challenge and the opportunity to play Summer Camp Music Festival, MOAB was awarded media credentials/collaborated with the festival to cover the artists’ performances and experience at the festival.
MOAB also collaborated with the apparel brand Sloth Steady (who we met while covering Boredomfest) to host a giveaway for an official Summer Camp pin.
MOAB also collaborated with with the apparel brand Grassroots California to host a renegade pop-up set with Super Future to help promote his appearance at Summer Camp and help maximize his opportunity being at Summer Camp.

Breakaway Music Festival
Collaborated with the festival leading up to the festival to host a Breakaway Music Festival Pool Party to give students at Grand Valley State University the chance to hear some of the local artists who would be performing at the festival and the chance to win tickets via raffles and a “biggest splash” contest
Worked with the festival to develop content leading up to the festival to help promote the festival, including playlist curation on SoundCloud, as well as editorial content to support key announcements for the lineup and later the after parties, as well as playlist curation and writing an article highlighting the songs we were looking forward to hearing at the festival… to help promote the festival
Collaborated with local apparel brand The Oddest to create The Oddest Lounge, complete with couches and lounge furniture…where attendees could relax and hangout during the festival, and MOAB coordinated and hosted live interviews with local artists Crowd Cntrl (now going by the name Sully) and headliners Crankdat and Two Friends, giving festival goers the chance to meet and learn more about their favorite artists.
Attended the festival and provided coverage on the event via photography and editorial coverage following the event
